Event Details
This unconventional, moody and wistful romantic comedy stars Juliette Binoche as a recently divorced, 50-something Parisian artist looking for love in all the wrong places.
Renowned French director Claire Denis (a tribute guest at DFF24) and her co-writer, novelist Christine Angot, drew from their own life experiences to tell the story of Isabelle, who is discovering that the more romantic encounters she seeks, the more emotional distance she creates from the men in her life. (A juicy end-of-film cameo from Gérard Depardieu only highlights her dilemma.) Yet the more frustrated she is, the more enchanted we grow with her in all her quirks, vulnerabilities and flights of intellectual fancy.
